JOB TITLE: COMEDY CLUB MANAGER

Location: Last Laugh Comedy Club, 127 Victoria Street, Hamilton, 3204
Position Type: Part-time

Salary: Hourly, Negotiable

Job Overview

We are seeking a dynamic and experienced candidate to oversee the daily operations of our vibrant new comedy club in the center of Hamilton’s hospitality district. 

The ideal candidate will have a passion for comedy, excellent people skills, and a strong background in hospitality management. This role involves coordinating talent, managing financial transactions, and ensuring a top-notch experience for our patrons.

Key Responsibilities

  1. Talent Coordination:

    • Schedule and book comedians and other performers.

    • Maintain relationships with talent agents and performers.

    • Ensure all technical and hospitality requirements for performers are met.

    • Work with the Marketing Specialist to promote upcoming shows through social media.
       

  2. Running the Till:

    • Oversee daily cash handling and financial transactions.

    • Ensure accurate till operations and reconciliation at the end of each shift.

    • Train staff on till operations and financial procedures.
       

  3. Knowledge of Drinks Menu:

    • Maintain an in-depth understanding of the drinks menu.

    • Work with bar staff to ensure consistent quality and presentation of drinks.

    • Assist in menu updates and suggest new drink offerings based on customer preferences and trends.
       

  4. People Skills:

    • Provide exceptional customer service and ensure a welcoming atmosphere.

    • Handle customer inquiries and complaints effectively and courteously.

    • Foster a positive work environment and motivate staff.
       

  5. Conflict Resolution:

    • Address and resolve conflicts between staff, performers, and patrons.

    • Implement and enforce club policies and procedures to maintain a safe and enjoyable environment..
       

  6. Financial Knowledge:

    • Manage club budgets and financial planning.

    • Prepare financial reports and analyze performance metrics.

    • Implement cost-control measures and maximize profitability.
       

  7. Hospitality Experience:

    • Utilize previous experience in hospitality to improve club operations.

    • Ensure high standards of cleanliness and customer service.

    • Coordinate with kitchen and bar staff to ensure smooth service.
       

  8. Great Organizational Skills:

    • Oversee scheduling and staffing to ensure adequate coverage.

    • Plan and execute events, promotions, and special shows.

    • Maintain accurate records and documentation.

Qualifications

  • Proven experience in hospitality management, preferably in a similar entertainment or nightlife venue.

  • Strong organizational and multitasking skills.

  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.

  • Financial acumen with experience managing budgets and financial reporting.

  • Ability to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as required.

  • Passion for comedy and knowledge of the entertainment industry.

  • Conflict resolution and problem-solving skills.
